Guide to News Media
For business students and future professionals, keeping up to date on industry trends, political developments, and other news can be critical. The Turchin Business Library and Tulane University Libraries provide access to a wide range of news media. The following guide can get you started with creating accounts on news media sites that cover international, national, and regional news.
Tulane also has access to multiple smaller, regional, and generalist newspapers. This guide covers only business-focused and English-language resources. Learn more about news sources that you have access to, including diverse global perspectives and non-English titles, here.

International Newspapers
The Economist
The Economist is a British weekly newspaper. It focuses on current affairs, international business, politics, technology, and culture. Despite a pronounced editorial stance, The Economist is seen as having little reporting bias, and exercises strict fact-checking and strict copy-editing.

The Financial Times
A British daily business newspaper. Owned by a holding company, Nikkei, Financial Times has a prominent focus on financial journalism and economic analysis, rather than generalist reporting.

The New York Times
NYT is a daily newspaper based in New York City, with a worldwide readership of 8.6 million. The Times has won 132 Pulitzer Prizes, and has long been considered a national ‘newspaper of record.’ The Times Business section is a must-read daily briefing on major business news.
