Become a Career Champion

Career Champions is a program that offers campus partners the resources to elevate their conversations with students who seek advice regarding their career interests and goals. By completing three sessions, you can become a Career Champion and join our career-minded community.

Career Development Fundamentals                     Time Duration 1.5 Hours

This session will introduce champions to the foundational elements of career decision making process. They will learn the theories and national competencies that guide our coaching and career education practices. Participants will gain resources and strategies on how to approach career conversations. 

Career & Major Exploration                                    Time Duration 1.5 Hours

During this session champions will examine the process students experience when exploring potential career opportunities. They will also delve into how it relates to choosing a major. Participants will navigate and review valuable resources to help students navigate during their journey.

Job & Internship Search Essentials                        Time Duration 1.5 Hours

In this session champions will explore strategies and resources to help students navigate the process of searching and gaining experiential learning opportunities. Participants will review and discuss helpful tools available to students during their pursuit of skill development

Optimizing Career Resources                    Time Duration 1.5 Hours

During this session, we will navigate resources that can be used to assist students as they make decisions about their majors and post-graduation plans. Our discussion will center around online resources such as Handshake, LinkedIn, and other premium resources available to Tulane students. Participants will gain awareness what these resources are and how to utilize them to gain helpful information to share with students.

Navigating Career Conversations                    Time Duration 1.5 Hours

This session will feature strategic methods to engage in student-centered career conversations. We will discuss strategies to approach and ask questions during career and major discussions. Participants will learn content and gain practical experience to enhance conversations to help students navigate academic and career decisions.
