If you enjoy working with team members whose defining characteristics are exceptional client service, initiative, professionalism, responsiveness, and adaptability, you may be the person we are seeking to join our Commercial department in our Charlotte office, as a Student Intern.

The Student Intern will provide support for the Business Development and Marketing teams client, data and social media needs. Provide general assistance for our summer associate and on-campus interview programs and administrative support to the local Human Resources team.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Business Development and Marketing:

  • Support event execution (closing dinners, client socials, sporting events)
  • Develop social media strategy and contribute to the development of unique content marketing strategies
  • Update tracking spreadsheets and provide internal reporting (Legal Updates, Client Relationship Management (CRM), etc.)
  • Research, gather, and input data into the Client Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Capture and organize photography of client and office events

Recruiting:

  • Assist in planning and execution of summer associate events and on-campus recruiting programs
  • Track and manage summer program and student recruiting expenses
  • Assist with summer associate programming logistics, including reserving conference rooms, organizing programming materials, and other discrete tasks
  • Collaborate with Office Services to coordinate summer program lunch orders
  • Assist with coordination of attorney lunches for summer associates
  • Solicit summer associate and project feedback
  • Prepare materials for committee meetings
  • Maintain and update student records in recruiting software
  • Assist with interview scheduling and logistics
  • Greet candidates for summer associate interviews
  • Provide general support for HR and administrative functions
  • Contribute assistance as needed for various special projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Some college experience preferred

Professional Experience:

  • Prior experience working in HR, Recruiting or Marketing preferred but not required
  • Prior experience working in a law firm, not a prerequisite

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Performance Traits:

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills with the ability to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously under strict deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Ability to perceive and communicate accurate completion time estimates in projects and assigned responsibilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside vendors
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines with shifting priorities
  • Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative
  • Strong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs

Physical Requirements:

  • May require travel around the Charlotte metro area
