POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Property Management Intern, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in the real estate industry by assisting our property management team in various tasks and projects. This internship offers an opportunity to learn about property management practices, affordable housing, customer service, and operational procedures while contributing to the success of our property portfolio.
Interns will work on-site at one of our primarily affordable housing properties including multi-family and senior sites.
This is a full-time, on-site internship starting June 4, 2025 and ending August 23, 2025
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document organization. Help maintain accurate and up-to-date property records and resident information.
Resident Relations: Assist in responding to resident inquiries, requests, and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Coordinate communication between residents and property management.
Property Inspections: Accompany property managers on property inspections to assess condition and identify maintenance needs. Document inspection findings and help create work orders for necessary repairs.
Lease Administration: Assist in the preparation and review of lease agreements, renewals, and related documents. Maintain lease files and records, ensuring compliance with lease terms.
Maintenance Coordination: Assist in scheduling and coordinating property maintenance and repairs. Track maintenance requests and follow up with vendors and contractors as needed.
Marketing and Advertising: Assist in organizing and promoting property open houses and showings and tours for prospective residents.
Financial Operations: Assist with rent collection and accounts receivable. Help in preparing financial reports for properties.
Special Projects: Participate in property improvement projects, renovations, or other initiatives as assigned by the property management team.
Professional Development: Attend property management and internship program meetings, workshops, and training sessions to expand your knowledge and skills in the field. Exposure to
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in business, real estate, property management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional, flexible, and detail orientated manner.
- Basic understanding of real estate and property management concepts is a plus.
