JOB TITLE: Events and Education Manager
MISSION
Become a part of the fast-paced, growth-oriented commercial real estate industry in downtown Minneapolis and surrounding suburbs. Join the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Greater Minneapolis and work with commercial office owners, property managers, engineers and related professions who make our organization the sixth largest BOMA in the United States.
At BOMA Greater Minneapolis, we are a trade association that works to enhance the success of the commercial real estate market through member engagement, education, and advocacy. We have a strong and dedicated membership. In fact, one in five BOMA Greater Minneapolis members participate in a committee.
We are the voice of nearly 700 real estate professionals in Minneapolis and the suburbs.
PURPOSE
We seek an engaging and attentive Manager of Events and Education who will enjoy interacting with over 54 different industries housed within our organization. Creativity, attention to detail, and following a budget are important qualities needed to continually entice and engage members to participate in association activities.
This position is ideal for a candidate looking to stretch and grow in their career as they will have the opportunity to engage with professionals connected to commercial real estate. A successful candidate will also tap their strengths in planning exciting and informative events.
The Events and Education Manager is detail oriented in providing members with a high- quality experience. This role is fun and exciting for those who enjoy planning events.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Hospitality & Event Management, Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing preferred or commensurate experience in customer service
- Detail oriented
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Experience in using a CRM system preferred. GrowthZone a plus
- Ability to multitask, prioritize daily workload, and exercise problem-solving skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan small and large events
- Work with vendors, including reviewing event contracts
- Actively participate in meetings and events to ensure smooth operations
- Create content as needed for events and meetings
- Track continuing education unit records and assist in managing programming
- Provide operational and administrative support
- Assist Communications Manager with website and database maintenance
- Staff specific committees and assist as needed
Other duties as assigned.
