F-1 Student Work Visa Strategies: Requirements for OPT, CPT & STEM Extensions
Hosted by Goin GlobalJoin GoinGlobal’s immigration experts to explore 3 US work options commonly used by F-1 students. F-1 students studying at American universities have limited options for working during their degree programs. An important option allowing off-campus employment is Curricular Practical Training (“CPT”). Similarly, students may be eligible to apply for “pre-completion” Optional Practical Training (OPT), which also allows for off-campus employment. This webinar will address issues related to CPT and pre-completion OPT as strategies for working during their degree program. The session will also discuss “post-completion” OPT as the best strategy for getting work in the US after graduation. Post-completion OPT, coupled with the STEM extension, can provide opportunities to work in the US for up to 3 years upon graduation. Each of these work options (CPT, OPT, and STEM) will be explored in this webinar. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions after the presentation.
